Your baby at 20 weeks

You are halfway there. From now on, length is usually measured from head to heel instead of head to bottom. The baby is swallowing amniotic fluid and producing meconium, which will be its first poo.

Your body at 20 weeks

The top of your uterus is now around the level of your belly button. Movements usually become easier to feel.

Your checklist this week

  • Have your anomaly scan if it has not happened yet. Tell the sonographer if you want to know the baby’s sex.
  • Start getting to know your baby’s usual pattern of movements.
  • Book antenatal or birth preparation classes.
