Your baby at 27 weeks

This is the last week of the second trimester. The brain is very active and the baby may get hiccups, which feel like small rhythmic jerks.

Your body at 27 weeks

Back pain, tiredness and needing to pass urine more often may return as the baby grows.

Your checklist this week

  • Ask about the Tdap (whooping cough) vaccine. ACOG recommends it between 27 and 36 weeks of each pregnancy.
  • If your blood group is Rh negative, ask about anti-D injections, often given around 28 weeks.
  • Plan time off work and your maternity leave dates.
