Your baby at 28 weeks

Welcome to the third trimester. The baby can open and close its eyes and blink. It is gaining weight quickly and its brain is developing fast.

Your body at 28 weeks

Appointments usually become more frequent from now. You may feel more tired, and the baby’s kicks can be strong.

Your checklist this week

  • From 28 weeks, go to sleep on your side rather than on your back.
  • Get to know your baby’s pattern of movements. Contact your maternity unit straight away if movements slow down or change. Do not wait until the next day.
  • Have your anti-D injection if you are Rh negative and it is recommended.
