Muscles and lungs are maturing, and the head is growing to make room for the developing brain. The baby’s bones are fully formed but still soft.

Your body at 29 weeks

Constipation and piles (haemorrhoids) are common in late pregnancy. Your hips and pelvis may ache as ligaments soften.

Your checklist this week

  • Eat high-fibre foods and drink plenty of water.
  • Tell your doctor or midwife about pelvic pain: a physiotherapist can help.
  • Keep monitoring your baby’s movements every day.
