Your baby at 7 weeks

The brain is growing quickly. Hands and feet look like tiny paddles, and the umbilical cord is forming to carry nutrients and oxygen from the placenta.

Your body at 7 weeks

You may notice food aversions, a metallic taste, more saliva or a stronger sense of smell. Mood swings are common as hormone levels rise.

Your checklist this week

  • Prepare questions for your first appointment.
  • Book a dental check-up: gums can bleed more easily in pregnancy.
