Your baby at 26 weeks

The baby’s eyes are forming fully and will begin to open in the coming weeks. Brain activity is increasing, and the baby may react to bright light.

Your body at 26 weeks

You may feel short of breath as your uterus pushes up under your ribs. Your blood pressure is checked at each appointment.

Your checklist this week

  • Keep going to every appointment: blood pressure and urine checks matter in the second half of pregnancy.
  • Take breaks and slow down if you feel breathless.
  • Start a list of things to buy for the baby.
